History and Saved Searches
Browse, replay, save, export, and manage past direct and proxy searches.
Search History gives your organization a record of past Direct Search and Search Engine Proxy activity. Use it to find old research, repeat useful searches, keep saved presets, and clean up entries you no longer need.
What appears in history
Section titled “What appears in history”History can include:
- Direct Search runs
- Search Engine Proxy runs
- saved searches
- query, language, location, domain, engine, and device metadata
- created time
- user who ran the search when available
Your history is scoped to the active organization and available permissions.
Search and filter history
Section titled “Search and filter history”Use the history filter to find searches by query or visible metadata. You can also switch between all history and saved searches.
Useful filters include:
- query terms
- tool type, such as Direct or Proxy
- location
- engine
- saved status
Save and unsave searches
Section titled “Save and unsave searches”Save a search when you want it pinned for future use. Unsave it when it was only useful temporarily.
Good saved searches are:
- repeatable
- named or scoped by project
- tied to a recurring reporting question
- useful to more than one teammate
Replay a search
Section titled “Replay a search”Open a past search when you want to inspect or rerun it. For Direct Search, this opens the destination URL. For proxy searches, you can return to the captured search details and pages.
Export history
Section titled “Export history”Use export when you need to move search history into a report, spreadsheet, or client deliverable.
Exported fields can include details such as:
- source
- query
- language
- location
- domain
- engine
- device
- created time
- destination URL
Plan access can affect export availability.
Delete old entries
Section titled “Delete old entries”Delete searches that are no longer useful, especially test runs with confusing settings. Be careful before deleting shared organization research that teammates may depend on.
- Save the final version of a search after testing settings.
- Use projects to keep saved searches organized.
- Filter by tool type when comparing Direct Search and proxy research.
- Export only the searches needed for a report, not the entire organization history.
Open in iSearchFrom
Section titled “Open in iSearchFrom”Open History in the app. History shows recent searches and saved searches for the active organization.
