Core Concepts
Learn the product vocabulary used across iSearchFrom.
These concepts appear throughout iSearchFrom. Understanding them makes every guide easier to follow.
Organization
Section titled “Organization”A organization is the team or business account where work happens. It contains:
- projects
- searches
- tracker campaigns
- AI Visibility campaigns
- members and roles
- billing and token balance
- API keys
If you belong to multiple organizations, choose the active organization before running searches or creating campaigns.
Project
Section titled “Project”A project is a folder for related work. Use projects to organize by client, website, market, product line, or campaign.
Examples:
Acme - Germany SEOBrand PPC WatchlistAI Visibility - LaunchMarketplace Search Research
Projects are especially important for teams because saved searches and campaigns become easier to filter and review.
Search
Section titled “Search”A search is a one-time action.
Direct Search creates a destination URL and sends you to Google or Bing. Search Engine Proxy runs a captured search and stores the results inside iSearchFrom.
Campaign
Section titled “Campaign”A campaign is a saved tracking setup. Campaigns are used by:
- SERP Position Tracker
- Ads Position Tracker
- AI Visibility
Campaigns include settings such as project, target domains or brand names, keywords or prompts, locations, devices, alerts, and schedule.
A run is one execution of a campaign. Runs can be scheduled or manual.
For example, if a SERP Position Tracker campaign runs every Monday, each Monday execution is a run.
A check is one unit of work inside a run.
Examples:
- one keyword in one market for SERP Position Tracker
- one keyword in one market for Ads Position Tracker
- one prompt on one AI platform in one location for AI Visibility
More checks usually means more complete coverage, but it can also increase token usage.
Search settings
Section titled “Search settings”Search settings control what market and result shape you are testing:
- Query: the search term or phrase.
- Country: the market where the search is performed.
- City: a city-level location when available.
- Map pin: an exact latitude/longitude origin for Search Engine Proxy.
- Language: the search/interface language.
- Device: desktop, mobile, or tablet for proxy and tracker workflows.
- Engine: Google or Bing where supported.
- Domain: the search engine domain, such as a country-specific Google domain.
- SafeSearch: search engine filtering behavior.
- Country only: restrict results to pages from the selected country when supported.
- Language only: restrict results to pages in the selected language when supported.
Tokens
Section titled “Tokens”Tokens are usage credits for work that performs captured searches or automated checks. More pages, keywords, prompts, markets, platforms, and frequent schedules can increase usage.
See Plans, Tokens, and Limits before creating large campaigns.
Alerts
Section titled “Alerts”Alerts notify you when important changes are detected, such as:
- a tracked domain entering or leaving the top 10
- a meaningful ranking movement
- a tracked advertiser starting or stopping sponsored ads
- AI visibility appearing, disappearing, rising, or falling
- competitor activity in AI answers
Alerts are configured inside tracker or AI Visibility campaign setup.
